Peoplesoft query manager/query viewer output format to .xslx?
Hi- are there any solutions for having the PS Query Viewer/Manager default to producing files in the newer .xlsx format? Thanks!
@Molly Myers we are on 8.54 and actually there is a workaround and we are now producing xlsx files!
@Shama Sivalingam What is your tools version?
@Shama Sivalingam I think it depends on what tools version you use. We're on 8.55.15, and ours are .xlsx automatically. What version of PeopleTools are you on? According to Oracle, "Since 8.54.05 it is possible to generate .xlsx output via Peoplesoft Query"
Good question, Shama. I've not heard of any way to default PS Query output to the newest Excel format. So we let PeopleSoft do the initial export to Excel as-is. Then, if users want their to be file stored in the newest version of Excel, they simply override that during the Save-As step. (When "Save as" window appears, click Save as type drop-down and change Excel 97-2003 Workbook to Excel Workbook. I admit it's an extra step, but fortunately it's pretty quick.
My hunch is that Oracle was originally supporting organizations who were on older versions...and years later, it's just deemed lower value to upgrade that than all the other things people want fixed/enhanced.
