Thanks in advance for any insight/input that you might offer. We have a small subset of our employee population who is Bonus Eligible and we would like for Peoplesoft HR to be the system of record to house this information. We do not have a Compensation module; however, is anyone leveraging any other previously unused fields to store bonus information? Examples would potentially be free-form text for us (10%, up to $5000, $1000 per quarter, etc). Any help is greatly appreciated.
You could consider using Comp Rate Codes in PS to track these. Comp Rate codes can be displayed on the employee's job data compensation page (and reported off of) and as long as they are set up as "non base" pay they do not go over to payroll as part of the regular base salary.
We added two fields to JOB for Bonus Type and Bonus Target Pct to use the way you are describing.
