I was exploring training (online or in-person) to learn more about the role of the business analyst and the common tools/artifacts involved from an IT Business Analyst role as my current job seems to be dabbling more into the BA role. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Thank you in advance!
My recommendations would be to check on PMI.org (Project Management Institute) for business analysis classes given by companies PMI has designated as Registered Education Providers (REPs). PMI offers a Business Analyst certification PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis). In my experience with project management-related classes, PMI is reliable with regard to who they certify as REPs.
I agree with @ShaneLaBar, and to add we are members of #IIBA who are the authors of the internationally recognized framework call BABOK (Business Analysis Body of Knowledge). BABOK is aligned to #PMBOK, #PRINCE2 as well as the #AGILE frameworks and methodologies. A fantastic resource which will guide anyone who puts on the BA role cap. You will find plenty of answers, tools and a templates there. Regards, Sean.
In which part of the world are you in?
In South Africa we have some really great BA courses that I
could refer you too
We have also used B2T Training before and thought they did a good job. They host webinars occasionally so you could get a bit of a sneak peak at what their training is like.
