Historical Data Storage from MF

Hello, I work for a large manufacturing company and provide lifetime warranties on many of our products.  We are in a lone project to phase out our old MFand move everything to JDE E1.

We are also highly focused on archiving and purging data in E1 as this has become an issue recently.

We have about 3MIL lines of data that goes back 8 years of information needed by one of our groups to research warranty information.  This data is access several times per day by our customer service group as customers call in and inquire about it.

Has anybody had this type of scenario?  If so how did you handle it?  I'm looking for a "best practice" solution.  We do not want to just throw 3 MIL lines of data into a table in E1 as we are looking to archive and purge some of the old data we have currently.

We have an application currently that looks up this data for a recent orders from our last Go Live but none of this historical data was converted to the new system.
