One of our employee hit the annual limit of $18000 on the last Payroll of December and the regular Payroll prorated the 401K deduction so that it dit not exceed the limit. Subsequently, an Interim was processed for the same employee and 401K deduction was taken which resulted in the limit being crossed. The Payroll user confirms that he did not do any override or selection /de-selection of DBAs during the interim entry.
My question is whether Interim Payroll does not honor the limit or Is this some kind of user error?
you know if the 1<sup>st</sup> check was payroll posted prior to
the interim. Typically, we run/post our Interim payroll first, then
run our regular payroll. Doing in this fashion ensures that the
system has calculated all of the YTD figures before processing the
