Material Stock Requests and Returns

Does anyone create InterUnit Material Stock Requests and then need to return some / all of the material back to the supplying warehouse after receipt into the requesting warehouse? If so, how do you accomplish this? Is there a way to do this which also reopens the original MSR for the returned quantity, similar to a regular RTV?

Right now we simply do another manual (Non-MSR) IBU back to the supplying warehouse then create another MSR requesting the replacement material so there is visibility in the system.

We do use Interunit transfers and return material. But for an Interunit transfer you cannot create an RMA since it is not really a return from an external party. My guess is that the current option is the only option: Create an IUT for the return to the supplying warehouse and then create another IUT to send the "open" qty from the supplying warehouse again.I think this is because these are considered stock movements between warehouses similar to a tranfer within a warehouse, instead of an "customer" shipment, or PO receipt.
