Currently working on an E1 implementation from JDE World 9.4. Questioning how we handle the security for supplemental data for employees and business units. From what I understand, the same setup in World is not available in E1, instead we should rely on row security. This is fine, however the row security would need to based on two data items (the database and the type data). Row security only allows for one. How do you accomplish this?
Thanks - Jaimee
Hi.. you have to apply row security (table) on the SDB
database type and a second layer for the SDB type data.
Are you setup as inclusive or exclusive security?
For Example.. we would block all SDB types for HR ('E', 'A',
etc.) at *PUBLIC then would grant back to the group that need
Then.. with type 'E' for example - some HR roles can maybe
only can see data type 'AC' (example) - we would either exclude
that type from those that should not see (exclusive) or grant only
to those roles that should see (inclusive). If you are
inclusive, you will also need to grant the groups that cannot see
some sort of authorization like only where data type = 'XX' and
'XX' is never really used.
Please let me know how you make out.
