Use cases for GTIN specific

Global Trade Item Number (GTIN - http://www.gs1.org/gtin) uniquely identify products or services that are priced, ordered or invoiced at any point in the supply chain.   Do any customers have use cases for GTIN specific to their Asset Management or Maintenance Management business processes that you would be willing to discuss or share below?
