BI Publisher to print Barcode labels

We are looking in to using BI Publisher to create our barcode labels. Has anyone done this.

Looking for information on the handling of generating the barcode, the defining of the printer to print the label on, and other items to consider if go this route.

Any knowledge share is greatly appreciated.
