Mobile App for PeopleSoft Applications

We're looking for information on best practices for creating native mobile apps for connecting to PeopleSoft Applications. Has anyone done this already? Are there any tips or tricks to share? Was it created internally or with vendor assistance? Were there any additional security concerns? Any information would be helpful.
