Inventory tracking
We create inventory for two customers, using the same item.
Sales order 1: customer 1 item 1 50K
Sales order 2: customer 2 item 1 25K.
a single work order is created to build inventory for both orders, since it is item 1 for 75K.
How does JDE track how much of the inventory belongs to: customer 1 or customer 2.
Each customer will release a different quantity for shipping. Warehouse can pull any item 1 inventory for shipping to either customer 1 or customer 2.
We need to report that customer 1 has ## of item 1 and customer 2 has ## of item 1.

Hi Jim - email me at tgaston@stonersolutions.com if you'd like a more in-depth discussion of options. At Stoner, we also build to stock, and have multiple customers purchasing the same item.
@Tammy Gaston thanks, supply/demand is not the issue. it's seeing the breakdown of inventory to see who 'owns' it.
We build to a work order, with no reference to the customer ordering the item. Other than a sales order that informed MRP to build a work order.
Basically, we build to stock.
However, multiple customers may order the same item.
How do we tie the stock inventory to the specific customer that ordered the item?
@Jim French
Hi Jim - I'm not sure how much experience you have with JDE, so I apologize if I'm over-simplifying your request. Have you looked at Supply/Demand Inquiry (P4021) ?
This will display all the demand for the item, indicating which demand applies to which Sales Order/Customer.
If you want a paper report, it is R4051. I have not played with all the options on that one, but you should be able to get the info you need.
