Recent CYE Payroll Updates - including CT Paid Family

I wanted to make sure you were aware that there will be a few payroll updates for CYE – they are likely coming fast & furious so make sure that you are subscribed to the Hot Topics document on Oracle Support if you haven’t already. Connecticut Paid Family, Canadian Payroll Late-Breaking Items
In the past couple of days, there have been releases for CT Paid Family legislation and some Canadian Payroll items too late for tax update “E” - you can find more details on Hot Topics.

If you are on version 9.2, you can get documentation on Document 1917096.2

Click on the Payroll for North America tab –
For CT PFML, or Tax Update “E”, you will want to click on the HCM PRP Patchsets link – then you can see the documentation.

Easy Way to Check Federal Withholding on Paycheck
The IRS recently updated Pub 15-T with new withholding rates – these should be delivered a bit before Christmas from Oracle.

The IRS has a Tax Withholding Assistant to calculate withholding on a paycheck. This is great, especially for giving to employees, but I find that this doesn’t accommodate any complicated scenarios (nonresident alien receiving a W-2, supplemental earnings, etc.)

Last year, I’d shared a spreadsheet that I use to calculate withholding – I’ve updated it with the new rates (based on Pub 15-T) – this WILL work for NRAs and supplemental. I know some of you have liked/used this in the past – so here it is for 2021:

How to subscribe to Payroll for NA Hot Topics
I have Doc ID 1348833.1 (Payroll for NA Hot Topics) as one of my favorites in My Oracle Support, and I subscribe to the Oracle Hot Topics emails (which I receive once a day).

In My Oracle Support (support.oracle.com), on the top bar, select the Settings button (if you don’t see it, click on the More... button), then Hot Topics E-mail.

Under Delivery Options, select Send with Selected Options (you can choose Daily or Weekly delivery).

Under Content To Include, I checked on "Documents I've marked as favorites." (I have like 100 favorites – but truly I’m only getting updates on a few like Payroll for NA Hot Topics)

Apply at the bottom.

There are many other things you can have it send emails about -- Knowledge Articles, Alerts, Bugs, etc., for the product(s) of your choice.
