Office 365 On Line version of Excel

We recently migrated our users to O365 with E1 licenses which only allows access to the online versions of the various Microsoft applications which ahve limited fuctionality. Specifically we have an issue with not being able to open grid downloads with the online version of Excel. It doesn't seem to like the html that is embedded.

Looking for someone that has experienced this issue and has a work around. Or a way to chnage the output of these downloads?

we are using 9.2 with 8.58.21 peopletools

@Alexis Brooks You are correct I fat fingered the entry it actually 8.56.21

@Pete Dunton, Pam Dymoke, a SIG leader for the PeopleSoft Financials has responded with the following: “He must have keyed his tools version wrong. 8.58 isn’t on patch 21 yet. Maybe tools 8.55? If so, that is the exact level we were on prior to our upgrade to 8.57 last month. We are on O365. Have not experienced that issue. I am not sure about the E1 license part though.”
