Compensation for employee with a FTE of less than 1.
I am looking for best practices of entering compensation when the FTE is less than 1.
1. Do you enter the full time salary and use the apply FTE checkbox?
2. Do you enter the actual salary and not use the apply FTE checkbox?
3. How do you accomodate the compa ratio calculation for an employee with an FTE of less than 1?
Hi Dana,
Please see answers to your questions below.
1. Do you enter the full time salary and use the apply FTE checkbox?
Yes, we utilize the Comp Rate field to be employees' 100% full-time equivalent rate, check the Apply FTE checkbox. The actual Annual rate will display on the Pay Rates section on Compensation tab. There should be some kind of customization to apply these logics at the back end.
2. Do you enter the actual salary and not use the apply FTE checkbox?
Not our company
3. How do you accomodate the compa ratio calculation for an employee with an FTE of less than 1?
We just rolled out a small section of MSS and we had a small customization to calculate compa ratio by looking at employees' full-time salary instead of their Annual rate based on FTE.
Hope this helps.
