JD Edwards E1 Tools Release only Upgrade to 9.2

We are currently on JD Edwards E1 Application release 9.0.2 with JD Edwards E1 Tools Release 9.1.5.3. We want to upgrade to JD Edwards Tools release 9.2.1.2., but continue to stay on JD Edwards Application 9.0.2.

Will Oracle continue support if we only upgrade the tools release to 9.2 or do both, the application and tools release, have to be upgraded to versions 9.2 for continued support from Oracle?
