Creation of Single Online Check for Terminations
We are experiencing issue with confirming checks when they are created via the integrations from Time & Labor. There are certain condition where we need the ability to create checks for employees who will be terminated, and they have reported time (aka payable time) crosses 2 calendar periods.
Due to California and Oregon Labor Law employers are required to provide employees with there final check on there last day of work.
Do to the timing of events there are instances where the employees reported time will cross over 2 pay calendars. Currently PeopleSoft does not support the ability to confirm the Online Checks (Component: PAY_OL_SHEET_U_WRK) or Final Checks (Component: RUNCTL_TERM) because the pay sheet crosses over two calendar periods and the prior period has not been confirmed.
In order to process checks as required by California and Oregon Labor Law we must create 2 separate checks. The first check is for the pay period end date of open payroll periods, for this check we are loading payable time from Time & Labor to create the pay sheet based on the payable time records for both periods and then having to reject the time that is for the future period. Then we must go to Time & Labor and Adjust Paid Time to a closed status so that it will not be picked up again. The second check is a manual check where we enter the hours for the future periods.
Because of the limitation to for the PeopleSoft application to support creation of checks for via the Final Check or Online Check functionality we would like request that an enhancement made to accommodate the requirement of the California and Oregon Labor Law and allow payable time in future pay periods to be process in the current pa period for terminations.
