Has anyone used PTF with variables being passed from PSQuery? For example, a PS Query is run and the results are passed (via a variable/recognition field) to the PTF Special Requision page. Any guidance?
@Erlinda-Arreola Erlinda, Excellent thank you. I took a look and this looks promising. I really appreciate the direction. Donna
@Donna-Hoffman Hi Donna, Can you please provide your email address? I will send you detailed instructions for using PS Queries in PTF.
@Donna-Hoffman Hi Donna, the PeopleBooks for PTF 8.57 has an example. See https://docs.oracle.com/cd/F13640_01/pt857pbr2/eng/pt/tptf/task_MappingPSQueryToATest.html
Make sure you follow the instructions to "Configure the fields on DataLoader tab on the Execution Options dialog box in PTF client" before doing what is in the example.
@logesh-balasubramaniam Hi Logesh, Can you please share code/demo on how you pass test results from PS Query to PTF? I mentioned 8.57 only because that is the version we are running. Please share your experience. Thank you. Donna
I have used PTF to run queries and use result data in variables on subsequent steps. Prior to 8.56 Queries had to be run via Query Manager and result copied into variables. From 8.56 onward, Data Loader feature is used to execute Queries and use its results in subsequent steps.
Since you have mentioned 8.57, are you having any issue specifically on 8.57? or do you need assistance on how to use Query results in test steps?
