Has anybody been able to successfully convert an xml response to a get connector to json using groovy to use as orchestration output?

Hi All. Has anybody been able to successfully convert an xml response to a get connector to json using groovy to
use as orchestration output?

I'm trying to do an interface with a REST connector, but my responses are in xml. I have a groovy script that will turn the xml into json, but when I insert it in the orchestration manage output section, it doesn't work. Has anybody else done this?
